Personal Background

I grew up learning to do demolition and pull wires on my Father's home improvement projects. Over the years I learned from his endeavors as a contractor and structural engineer and then later in renovating two of my own houses. These experiences gave me an appreciation for good design as well as the problems that can crop up.
Family and a balanced life are extremely important to me. I am active in my community, enjoy running, cooking, travel, sailing and writing. I delight in the small things and believe that you can find beauty in anything. I love to make people smile! |

Real estate is usually an individual's largest investment. As a result, whether someone is a first time homebuyer, or seasoned investor, they need someone to protect their investment and ensure that they feel empowered and informed along the way. I think that communication is paramount to ensuring a successful transaction and I utilize a variety of tools to facilitate the process, but recognize that often nothing beats a real face to face conversation.

I have a Bachelors Degree from the University of Maryland in International Business/Finance. I worked my way through college as a financial analyst at Patrician Mortgage Company whereby I supported various departments involved in originating and servicing loans for multi-family dwellings.
After graduating from college I worked for Andersen Consulting, or Accenture as it is currently known. I held a variety of positions, with the last being a managemet position whereby I managed 17 employees and liased with European and Asian teams to successfully implement a large scale system. I then went on to work in several management positions in both in internet start-up and a large communications carrier. In both cases I was responsible for projects and budgets ranging from the tens to hundreds of millons. In the fall of 2002 I began working and educating myself to become a residential appraiser and I am currently certified in Maryland, on the FHA approved roster. As a logical compliment to my appraiser background, I became a licensed real estate salesperson in both Maryland and Virginia in 2004. Since becoming licensed I have provided services to a variety of clients from individual homeowners to investors. |
